d16 internal upgrades

My d16 is gonna get pulled a a couple weeks to be replaced by the almighty DX motor, so while my d16 is out, i need to buy some stuff for it, I wanna get new pistons and rings...ive heard D16Z6 pistons will work as well as 89 integra pistons. I heard they will raise the compression a bit, i wont have much money to spend so i wanna keep it simple and cheap. Also, someone tell me some information on gapless pistons rings....what do they do and is it worth it?? Thanks.

my friend put zc pistons in his 92 civic sedan dx and he beat a 2001 civic ex with a intake. he only has intake and header and zc pistons. this is with his d15. oh yeah, he has vtec intake manifold.
